You just might be surprised at the number of actors who got their big break starring on a TV sitcom who then went on to win an Oscar for a dramatic performance. The line between comedy and drama can often be thinner than Depression-era chicken soup, but these leaps from flat out comedy to hardcore drama offer proof that actors should be required to make that transition from making us laugh to making us cry more often than they do.
